Zesty Morning Detox

Small, positive changes can make a huge difference on our health goals when we stick to them over the long term. But the trick is, finding things we enjoy doing and sticking to them! Finding a friend to partner up with is a real game changer and a whole lot more fun than going solo. This little lemon detox drink is quick, simple and refreshing. The recipe makes enough for 2 so share with someone you love! You'll need: 4 cups ice water 1 whole lemon (washed) 2 Tbsp Olive Oil 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract (optional but recommended) A "splash" of Liquid Stevia (optional) Fill your VitaMix up to the 4 cup mark. It's approximately 3 cups of water to 1 cup of ice. If you don't have a VitaMix, any high power blender will work as long as it pulverizes the contents. Cut the lemon into quarters and add the entire lemon, including the seeds and peel. Add the other remaining ingredients and blend for about 2 minutes. Strain the contents through a wire mesh colander 2x to remove any pulp, seed remnants and excess peel. This makes about 4 cups after it's strained and it's so refreshing that I can easily drink 2 cups rather quickly. Please note, this isn't something that tastes great if it sits in the fridge to drink later. It starts to get bitter because of the peel so for the best tasting and most refreshing contents, drink up as soon as you make it. Lemons have great weight loss benefits and are a rich source of vitamin C. Lemon juice is believed to protect the body from immune system deficiencies and helps maintain a healthy ph in the body. Drinking cold lemon water in the morning can be incredibly refreshing and energizing! But drinking warm lemon water can have some pretty powerful benefits, too! I highly recommend looking into the other amazing health benefits of this little yellow fruit! #detox #energize #morningdetox #eatclean #bodycleanse #lemons
