Mix it Up with Golden Milk

I was first introduced to Golden Milk about a year ago and to be perfectly honest with you, I thought it tasted like vomit. I draw the line on "healthy" or "healing to the body" when it's something that makes me want to gag because of texture, smell and/or flavor. So when my girls over at 'Mindfully Sweet' shared a Golden Milk recipe they adored and enjoy almost daily, I got curious. I trust my tribe and now I just may be slightly addicted to this little bevvy! I'm a girl who likes to get things done quickly in the kitchen so this makes a mix that will make 30 servings! Yay for keeping things simple! Making this mix ahead of time will save you both time and energy in the kitchen and it will literally take you about 10 minutes tops to whip this mix together. Ingredients: 8 Tbsp ground turmeric 4 tsp ground ginger 4 tsp ground cinnamon 2 tsp ground black pepper (the finer the better) 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg 1/4 tsp ground clove

Stir your mix well and store in an airtight container for up to 3 months at room temperature . While it isn't necessary to refrigerate the mix, you are certainly welcome to do so. Making Your Golden Milk: 1 rounded tsp of the Golden Milk mixture

1-2 tsp of real maple syrup, raw honey or stevia (your choice) 2 tsp hot water

Choose a non-dairy "milk" of your choice and pour 8 ounces into a small sauce pan. I prefer to use unsweetened coconut milk but you are welcome to try other non-dairy milks to discover your own preference. So here's the scoop on how to make this delicious milk! First of all, you can drink this bevvy hot or cold. The key is to combine the mix, water and sweetener together first and create a little paste. This helps get those little lumps out before you add your non-dairy milk. Use a wire whisk when combining the "milk" with the paste, being careful to get the lumps out. This is super easy when making a hot bevvy. Be careful to not bring to a boil! When making this cold, it may be helpful to shake vigorously in a mixing bottle and pour over ice once everything is mixed properly. I truly hope you love this as much as I do! It's super easy to make and having the mix on hand makes things a lot more convenient. Golden Milk is known to be an anti-inflammatory drink and there are a lot of health benefits to assisting the body with getting rid of inflammation. #goldenmilk #fightinflammation #hotbeverage #colddrinks #glutenfree #sugarfree #vegan #dairyfree #turmeric #newblogpost
